Bishop Albini LeBlanc, of Gaspé, uses this opportunity to divide the parish of Paspébiac and and to create the St Pie X parish, in 1958. The actual church will be rebuilt only in 1960 by contractor Marcel Montreuil according to plans prepared by architect Edgar Courchesne.
