The 1300 GTsolves all the old major problems., of which I had quite a few. The new ones are totally minor. fuel guage. I spoke with my dealer today who had a discussion with BMWNA. Since, it is not a major issue, they said that I should wait for the next release of software and hopefully solve this issue.. I love the ride of my GT more than just about any bike I've ridden and that includes the K1600 GTL that I test drove. Quick and nimble for around town and commuting but comfortable on the long haul. However, it has been the most unreliable bike I've owned. I've experienced a flange failure 500 miles from home.

52184. Sep 26, 2017. #2. The K13GT was only made for 2009 and 2010 and little difference that I am aware of in the two years. I'd be partial to the 2010 myself, but I think you'll find that more critical than the year is the maintenance the bike received and whether or not all the SI bulletins were done on the machine.. The 1300 is the end of the 4 cyl K bikes. As such it has improvements or fixes to most of the problems of the earlier version, the 06-08 K1200. The bike is not a comfortable as an RT but has more top end power. (I own both). The services are much more work and therefore more expensive.
